Editorial Policies
Editorial Independence
The following Statement of Principle expresses Bright Publisher’s commitment to intellectual freedom and independent editorial judgment. This policy is informed by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices and Bright Publisher’s editorial standards. While editors and publishers work closely together in managing a journal’s operations, duties, and responsibilities, editorial decisions remain fully independent. This separation ensures that the integrity of the editorial process is protected from any form of commercial or external influence.
Principle of Editorial Independence
-
We believe strongly in maintaining a clear division between editorial decision-making and commercial interests.
-
Protecting this editorial independence means that all editorial decisions, and any concerns or complaints about those decisions, are handled strictly within the editorial structure of the journal.
These structures typically include the Editor-in-Chief, Co-Editors, Editorial Board, and where applicable, review boards or ombudsmen responsible for editorial governance. -
Artificial Intelligence in Learning (AIL) operates a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
The final acceptance or rejection decision for all manuscripts is made by the Editor-in-Chief or another qualified academic editor approved by the Editor-in-Chief. -
If a manuscript is submitted by a journal editor, it will be assigned to and handled by another independent editor to avoid any conflict of interest.
Such submissions follow the same review and editorial procedures as any other manuscript and are processed transparently under standard peer-review conditions.
It is also required that no individual on the commercial or executive side of Bright Publisher may be involved in, influence, or comment on any editorial decision under any circumstance.
To deviate from the consistent application of this principle would undermine the integrity of editorial independence, which remains a core value of Artificial Intelligence in Learning (AIL) and Bright Publisher.
